Anytime is a good time for a round of golf!
The Walnut Creek Men’s Golf Club began at Boundary Oak Golf Course when the course opened in 1969.
The club is registered with the Northern California Golf Association and provides all members access to the handicap (GHIN) system; NCGA tournament play and privileges; local club meetings; and tournament events throughout the year.
The club prides itself on being friendly and giving all members the opportunity to make new friends. There are currently 300+ members and the club is looking forward to growing its membership. Memberships are available for resident and non-resident Men, Women, and Juniors with Regular, Associate and e-Member divisions.
2017 Membership Renewal is available on-line or by using the form in the website filing cabinet. There will also be forms available in the Pro Shop by the club filing cabinet. Contact the Board Members if you have any trouble renewing.
Congratulations to Craig Eller for his Hole In One at the 2016 Fall Festival!
The goal of the WCMGC is to provide local tournament events for players at all levels. 20+ tournaments are played by the club annually at Boundary Oak including: Club Championship, Individual and Team Match Play with (3) flights for play at all levels. Scratch and handicap tournaments, weekly “skins” games, and fun scramble events fill the club’s calendar. Almost all tournaments are conducted on weekend mornings to accommodate the working golfer. Tee times are also available early Mon and Wed mornings for weekday play.
In 2008 the club adopted the new POPE of the slope handicap system to ensure fairness of play in handicap flights. It is the goal of the club’s leadership that golf should be both competitive and fun for all members.
Each year, the club sends players to participate in an NCGA qualifying event at Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach. The members representing the WCMGC are tournament winners and those with a cumulative number of points that rank them in the top tier of the club.
The WCMGC has an elected BOD plus appointed committee members with each member serving a three-year term. The BOD meets regularly to plan events, manage the budget, and ensure competitions are played fairly. The operations and viability of the club counts on the volunteers who support the Board, Tournaments, Membership and Treasury. These are non-compensated volunteers with membership fees waived in lieu of thier service to the club throughout the year. If you can help us, volunteer!
The club has this website where members can sign up for events and communicate with other members. The club has general meetings tthroughout the year. Meetings include speakers related to rules and greens and other club business.
Additionally, the club supports various charities, summer camps, First Tee and USGA/LPGA Girls Programs.
